MEET THE ARTIST

I’m a Southern artist with a love for telling stories through paint—whether I’m capturing the fleeting moments of a wedding day or the quiet beauty of the landscapes I call home.

My work is rooted in memory, place, and the belief that ordinary moments can become something worth keeping.

Hey, I’m Kitty!

I’ve been painting professionally for more than 27 years, with roots in portraiture, commissioned art, and the landscapes of the rural South. I earned a B.A. in Studio Art from Troy University and later a Master of Science in Counseling and Psychology. Early in my career, I also had the opportunity to apprentice under internationally recognized artist Nall Hollis.

Over the years, my work gradually led me to live wedding painting, where I discovered how much I loved capturing a moment while it was still unfolding. What began with a few weddings grew into a thriving part of my art, allowing me to create heirloom paintings of some of life’s most meaningful days.

When I’m not painting weddings, I’m most often drawn to the familiar beauty of home—fields, creeks, wildflowers, old roads, and the changing Southern light. In 2026, this work came together in my solo exhibition, Wild and Holy Things, at Troy University’s International Arts Center.

My Christian faith is at the heart of my life and shapes the way I see the world, conduct my business, and make choices both personally and professionally. I believe creativity is a gift from God, and I try to approach my work and the people I serve with gratitude, integrity, and grace.
